Baclosan®

Active substance : Baclofen.
Mode of action : muscle relaxant, antispastic

Indications :

Increasing muscle tone with multiple sclerosis, tumors and spinal cord diseases of infectious, degenerative and traumatic origin (such as syringomyelia, motor neuron disease, injury);
stroke, cerebral palsy, meningitis, head trauma, alcoholism

Contraindications :

Hypersensitivity, epilepsy, convulsions (in history), psychosis, Parkinson's disease, chronic renal failure, pregnancy, lactation.

Dosing and Administration

Must be taken during a meal.
For adults, the initial dose of - 5 mg 3 times a day. Every 3 days the drug dose must be gradually increased (typically 30-75 mg per day) until a therapeutic effect.
For patients over 65 years the dose should be increased with caution due to the increased risk of side effects.
The maximum daily dose - 100 mg.

For children, the initial dose is 5 mg 3 times a day. If necessary, the dose can be increased every 3 days (with caution).
Generally recommended dosages: Children aged from 1 to 2 years - 10-20 mg per day, 2-6 years - 20-30 mg per day, 6-10 years - 30-60 mg per day. Children older than 10 years, the maximum dose is 1.5-2 mg / kg body weight.
